Ensembles
Malvern Big Band
I formed Malvern Big Band in 2000 with another local musician, trumpet player
Chris Lewis. Chris has since moved on to work in another part of the country,
and Robin Miller has now become one of the main organisers as well as being a
star of the trumpet section. MBB plays a healthy mixture of music; at our gigs
you will hear charts by composers such as Duke Ellington and Gershwin which
covers the traditional areas. We strive to give something of a focus on the
contemporary, so you will also hear music by Don Ellis, Frank Mantooth and
Jim Martin, to name a few. You can go to the
Malvern Jazz website to find out
more about the band and hear some more of the music we play.
